Whether they take place on urban city streets or in the Old West, these deadly firefights always make our hearts beat just a little bit faster. From Brian DePalma to Sam Peckinpah, some of the best directors in the business have taken on the challenge of orchestrating a symphony of gun play. Totally awesome list! Heat is for sure the number shoot out of all time, but the best guy in a shoot out of all time is Tony Montanna, Hands down. You’re missing the Terminator II shootout at Cyberdyne, by the way.
Heat is all power, but the Untouchables sequence is like an opera. Should have been number one. The gunfight at the OK Corral is the best real life shoot out of all time and Costner’s “Wyatt Earp” is twice the movie “Tombstone” ever will be. Its a far superior movie in every way.
The final gunfight in the Good, the Bad and the Ugly is a highpoint in cinema even though only 3 shots are fired!
