“The European Union has never recognized Israel’s annexation of East Jerusalem. Settlements and the demolition of homes are illegal under international law, constitute an obstacle to peace, and threaten to make a two-state solution impossible,” declared Catherine Ashton, the EU’s foreign policy chief.
Clear and concise words. Once again, an internationl organization cites Israeli action in Palestine as being criminal. Once again, the statement results in nothing.
Watch the following report filmed in a Palestinian neighbourhood near Jerusalem’s Old City, following the Jerusalem municipality approving a controversial plan to demolish 22 Palestinian homes to make way for a park and shopping complex. The European Union has warned Israel over its plans to demolish dozens of Palestinian homes, but to no avail.
Ask yourself this – What would you do if one day someone from the government showed up at your door and told you to get out and never come back because your house was going to be demolished? It’s 2011 and this is still happening in Palestine. What will it take to put an end what is no less than a total affront to international law? What will take to stop the Apartheid system in Palestine?

Simply put, much like what as accepted in South Africa for years before the Apartheid system was brought to an end – the world is failing Palestine.
More people need to know what is REALLY going on, as no one would find what ths video depicts as acceptable. The funny thing is Israel appears to be the one who is succeeding in bringing attention to their own criminal behavior and not the Palestinians.
The Palestinians are at a very important fork in the road. As the comment above states, the Israelis are looking more the resident villian these days than ever before, whose behavior, having never been put in check, grows worse and more heartless with every flashpoint. Palestinians and their leadership Hamas, as difficult as it will be, must sit back, and put pride aside, the only thing they have left, and allow themselves to only do as the international community asks them to do. Combining non-violent reaction to the monstrous violence of the Israelis will heed the call of the world more than anything. And they are as closer to this as they have ever been.
What would I do is some came to destroy the home my family built? Grad my gun, that’s what. We protect what’s ours, we protect our families, this is human instinct. And in the case of the Palestinians, who are not allowed to hold weapons of any kind, not even so much as a pocket knife, I would, our of sheer frustration, throw stones. Which is exactly what they do, and people wonder why.
As a side not to the comment above, not only are Palestinians not allowed to carry so much as a slingshot, those Jews selected to be settlers, are required by Israeli law to stock weapons in their homes. They are also chosen to be “settlers” because they are the most radical of Israelis, believing fully, that it is God’s will that Israel is theirs and that they cleanse Palestine of “outsiders.” The government wants radicals there, needs radicals there.
SO – you have heavily armed nutcases pitted against an impoverished weaponless populace, who under occupation are protected by no laws, are in fact not recognized by Israeli law in any way.
As they post asks – what would you do?
