Racism is both a tragic and fascinating human phenomena that, despite the improved liberal tolerances of our new global village, continues to thrive in societies the world over. As RELATIVTY has discussed at length before, East and West, Third or First world, racism is always there; sometimes beneath the surface and sometimes in our faces.
For some, a critical and forthright discussion of race is much more acceptable when it comes from an often maligned and marginalized slice of a society’s minority. But what if you are a member of the majority? What if you a member of a racial group whose history includes ugly acts of racism and prejudice? Are there boundaries to respect? Are there certain issues too sensitive to approach?
RELATIVTY Online staff came across the above video of a young American asking these very questions and more. With its history entrenched in slavery, The United States has always been a hotbed of racial tension, ready to burst into flame at any given moment. Watch a rather frank discussion of one man’s perspevtive of such an atmosphere and see if you agree.

All those who so strongly opposed the civil rights movement didn’t simply disappear and frutehr still, many managed to instill their racism their children. And so teh baton was passed.
A White Liberal Boy’s Rant on War
In terms of America, they will never, ever admit it, but when Obama became president, GOP maddness went rampant. A Black President? No way.
The overwhelming thing is only that we are this ignorant of ourselves, frailties and allowing fear of unknowns to control our moves, memory selection. But yet we can make it to the moon – shit Obama (or my black neighbor) is far less in distance but still a larger divide exist.
IN terms of Obama, It’s had the interesting effect of making those who would vehemently oppose his policies think about how they express their opposition, for fear of being called a racist. It is the undeniable race card, instinctivley played, every time Obama’s opinins are the focus of a public debate.
This only proves how racist we all are, as much as we would like to claim otherwise.
Americans are so far past juding other by race, we have evoloved, beome more…. LOLOLOLOLOL! Yah right!
White people are not allowed to even sugggest the idea that they face racsim, when they very much do at times. You cannot be proud “to be white” unless you want someone to call you a Nazi. It’s a sick double standard.
Reverse discrimination is a fact of life, especially in America. Is anyone going to sat that there are no blacks who are racsist towards whites? Of course there is!! And its nonsene that white peopl are made to feel guilty or afraid to brng it up.mLet’s face some blacks hate whites.
I have still yet to figure out the line between racism and stereo type. I my self am an Irish Catholic who lives up to the stereo type pretty much to a “T”. I have red facial hair, I like Notre Dame Football, and I have been known to drink many of people under the table. So if someone calls me a Mick or a Paddy does that make them racist, or is it just calling a book by its cover? At what point do you cross that line? If the stereo type is that black people like fried chicken, are you not allowed to ask a black person if they like fried chicken cause it falls into a stereo type and now you are considered a racist.
